Matthew 14:28-29 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
We are often critical of Peter for starting to sink after a few steps, but in reality he was the only one who had enough courage to step out of the boat. He realized it was safer on the water with Jesus than it was in the boat without Him.
We can’t comprehend the faith it took to step out of the safety of the boat and attempt to walk on the water in the midst of a raging storm.
Storms of life will test our faith. In fact, there will be times when faith is all we have. We will find ourselves in situations where we can’t see the shore and we can’t understand how the situation will work out. It’s those times we simply trust the Lord.
