Hope

1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

The hope of the believer is a “living hope”, one that is sure, certain, and real as opposed to the false hope the world offers. Ours is based on the blood of Jesus and His resurrection from the dead.

When we who are saved by grace speak of our hope of heaven we are not talking about “pie in the sky”.  We’re talking about a “lively hope”, a  sure thing, something that’s more solid than the ground under our feet, something that’s settled by the inerrant, infallible, Word of God.

The world may be in turmoil today, but those who are saved possess a hope that is out of this world.
