Luke 19:39-40 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Jesus had a lot of contact with rocks and stones during His ministry. He walked on them, sat on them, prayed on them, wept on them and bled on them. If those stones could talk they would have a great story to tell.
• On the mount of temptation they would talk of His sinless nature
• Stones at the marriage of Cana would talk of His provision
• Stones at Jacob’s Well would talk of His mission
• Stones in the temple court would talk of His forgiveness
• Stones at the tomb of Lazarus would talk of His power
• Stone around Jerusalem would talk of His Glory
• Stones in Gethsemane would talk of His agony
• Stones at the garden tomb would talk of His Resurrection
• Stones on The Mount Of Olives would talk of His return
If stones could talk today they would declare the greatness of Jesus to a lost and dying world. Believers are to do the same.
