David shows up. He sees the situation as a faith and glory of God issue. Goliath has to go.
1 Samuel 17:37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.
As David runs to meet the bully, he reaches into his shepherd’s bag, takes out a single stone, puts it in his sling, and winds up. The stone hits Goliath directly between the eyes, sinks into his head, and he is dead before he hits the ground. God gets the glory!
Got anything or anyone in your life that resembles fear of a Goliath bully? Think of bullies as God’s opportunity to receive glory from our lives, helping us face bullies with His power, making us victorious.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,” 2 Timothy 1:7.
