1 Corinthians 15:19-20 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.
If this life is all there is. If there is no hope for eternity, no rapture and no possibility of a resurrection; if all we have to look forward to is the grave; then we would have real reason to despair.
But there is a resurrection. Jesus Christ did rise from the grave. There is hope for those who have their faith in Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
