Forgiveness

One moment they are standing before the Prime Minister of Egypt, the next moment the brothers of Joseph are looking into the eyes of the brother they sold as a slave twenty-two years earlier.
Joseph forgave his brothers because he could see the hand of God in everything that happened to him.

Genesis 45:8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Have you ever been hurt by someone? Did you seek revenge or do you hold a grudge? If so, do you find that path a little weary and rugged, intent on eating you alive?

If you want peace of mind, you need to forgive. It’s not always easy and you may have to pray for help from Jesus, but Joseph left us a great example. He returned “good for evil”.
Matt. 5:44-48.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

If He has allowed it, He will use it for our good and His glory in His time. Our duty is to accept the things that come our way and trust the Lord to work out His will through it.

If we can see God’s hand in the hurts we experience, it will make them easier to bear.
