Have Faith In God

The prophet Elijah didn’t know how the Lord was going to feed him, the widow and her son, but he knew God was as good as His Word.
All the widow knew was that a God she knew very little about was telling her to give what little food she had to a man she knew nothing about.

I wonder if she was filled with fear as she watched Elijah eat the last of her food.  I wonder if she thought, “Well, there will be no last meal for us before we die.”

Regardless of her fears and doubts she did as Elijah requested. That’s mountain-moving faith.

1 Kings 17:15-16 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

For the next three years, every time she used up the meal and oil, there was plenty the next time she needed some.

If we will forget about what we think we need and leave our care in the capable hands of God, He will take care of us. He takes care of the sparrow and promised to take care of us.
