When his brothers ripped off his coat of many colors, threw him in a pit, ignored his pleas, then sold him to slavery; I wonder if Joseph questioned the dreams God had given him, Gen. 37:5-10, dreams to rule over His brothers.
Holding the coat, now stained with animal blood, His father sobs. These no-good brothers tell Jacob an animal attacked him.
Behind the scenes of this terrible tragedy moved the unseen hand of God’s sovereignty. What appeared to be a hopeless situation was merely setting the stage for hope in the future. God had a plan and nothing could derail that plan.
There will be times when things appear hopeless, when the shattered pieces of our dreams will lie all around us. In times like these we have the precious promises of our great God to cling to, Rom. 8:28.
Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Bring your shattered dreams to Jesus. Let Him give you help in dealing with them. Let Him give you hope.
