We’ll Understand It Better By And By

The thought of a better place after our time on earth has cheered the hearts of God’s people for thousands of years.

But we are not home yet. While the troubles and trials we face are part of this earthly existence, they will not follow us where we are headed.

Praise God, the burdens of life are temporary at best, but we will understand it better by and by.

John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

“Trials dark on every hand, — and we cannot understand — all the ways that God would lead us — to that blessed promised land. — But he’ll guides us with his eye, — and we’ll follow till we die. — We will understand it better by and by.

“By and by, when the morning comes, — when the saints of God are gathered home, — we'll tell the story how we've overcome, — We will understand it better by and by.

“Temptations, hidden snares — often take us unawares, — and our hearts are made to bleed — for some thoughtless word or deed. — And we wonder why the test — when we try to do our best, — but we'll understand it better by and by.”
