He Lives

John is “in the Spirit, on the Lord’s Day”, Rev. 1;10.  As he worships, he hears a voice behind him that sounds like a great trumpet.

Turning, he sees the glorified Christ and attempts the  impossible —  to describe the Lord of Glory. He faints.

Revelation 1:17-18  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

[18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

He is the One Who has always been, and the One Who will always be.  Jesus stands as the great Bookend on either end of history.

Jesus died. He went to that cross to pay a price He didn’t owe for a people who owed a price they couldn’t pay.  He gave His all to redeem His people from their sins,

Kings may come and kings may go, but Jesus has, is and will reign forever. He is timeless and He is eternal!

He has risen indeed!

“I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today;  —. I know that He is living whatever men may say;  —. I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,  —. And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

“He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!  —. He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.  —. He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart!  —. You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.

“In all the world around me I see His loving care,  —. And tho' my heart grows weary I never will despair;  —. I know that He is leading thro' all the stormy blast,  —. The day of His appearing will come at last.

“Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing,  —. Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King!  —. The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find,  —. None other is so loving, so good and kind.

“He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!  —. He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.  —. He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart!  —. You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.”
