Were You There?

Mark 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

Matthew 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

I pray we never forget the sacrifice Jesus made for our salvation; the cruelty He suffered, and His cries from the cross.

Matthew 28:5-6 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

[6] He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ proves that our God is sovereign.

If He can raise His Son from the dead, there is nothing He can’t do. He gives peace to His children in spite of the circumstances, Phil. 4:7; John 14:27.

The message of the resurrection should give us courage because death was defeated for all who believe in Jesus.

Because he lives, we will live eternally. Because He lives, He is seated at the right hand of God, praying on our behalf, Heb. 13:5; Heb. 7:25.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.

“Were you there when they crucified my Lord?  — Were you there when they crucified my Lord?  —  O . . . . Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble!  — Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

“Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree? —  Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?  —  O . . . .  Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble!  —  Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?

“Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?  —  Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?  —  O . . . .  Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.  —  Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?

“Were you there when He rose up from the dead?  —  Were you there when He rose up from the dead?  —  0 . . . .  Sometimes I feel like shouting glory, glory, glory!  — Were you there when He rose up from the dead?
