Grace, Greater Than All Your Sins

The disciples returned to fishing after the resurrection, but Jesus had better plans for them. He makes a fire, preparing food for them when they came to shore.

John 21:13-14 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise. This is now the third time that Jesus showed himself to his disciples after that he was risen from the dead.

Jesus asks Peter if he loves Him more than fish. I think He’s giving Peter a chance to deal with his failures. He had denied the Lord three times and attempted to return to the old life. “Yes, I love you,” he said each time.

Our risen Savior lives today in Heaven at the Father's right hand, interceding for us when we fail. Heb. 7:35; Rom. 8:34.

You have not been so bad that God will turn His back on you. His Grace  will forgive all your sins, and only a risen Lord can do that. He will always take you back.  He took Peter back after he denied him three times.
