Learning To Lean

So thankful for the support, props, and crutches God graciously places in our lives. But, if we aren’t careful, when trials come it's easy to lean more on them instead of Jesus.

Did you know that every plank in our support system can fail. Almighty God never fails when we lean solely on Him.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

The Lord wants to bring all His Redeemed to the place where we lean on Him and Him alone. Study the chaotic life of David. He had everything and lost it, often fleeing for his life in the process. God took his props away and He learned to learn on his Lord. Holy Scripture says he was a man after God's own heart.

Sad, broken-hearted at an altar I knelt . . . I found a peace that was so serene . . . And all that He asked was a Child-like trust and a heart that is learning to lean . . . Learning to Lean, learning to Lean . . . I'm learning to lean on Jesus . . . Finding more power then I've ever dreamed . . . I'm learning to lean on Jesus.  John Stallings
