A brief glimpse at Joseph’s life shows the trials he endured.
He was treated unfairly by his own brothers and sold into slavery.
He became a slave in a foreign land. He was falsely accused of attempted rape and imprisoned.
Genesis 39:21 But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
“The Lord was with Joseph!” That truth alone made prison bearable. In that prison he was forgotten by many, but was not forsaken by the Lord.
Our circumstances might be bad, but our God is good. We need to learn how to glorify Him when the sun is shining or the rain is falling.
If He is the God of the mountain, He is also the God of the valley.
