On the way to the Temple to worship, Peter and John meet a crippled man at the Beautiful Gate begging for pennies. Peter heals him in the name of Jesus.
When the people see the lame man leaping and jumping and praising God, they ask questions. Peter seizes the opportunity to tell them about Jesus.
When the leaders of the people hear Peter preaching that Jesus Whom they had crucified arose from the dead, they are furious and arrest Peter and John.
After spending the night in jail, Peter and John are brought before the council to explain the healing of the lame man. "By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?"
Peter answers.
Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
This message had already been delivered that day and 5,000 men were saved by the grace of God.
Jesus has the power to change lives. Imagine how the crippled man’s life may have changed.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
