From the time he confronted the king of Israel, to his adventures of faith at the dry brook and the widow's house, to his great victory on Mount Carmel —- the life of Elijah was a whirlwind of activity, and God is about to move him to Heaven in a whirlwind.
Elijah travels his last miles going to places and talking to prophets as His God-called friend Elisha eagerly tags along, anxious to witness his amazing departure.
2 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
One of these days born again Christians will leave this world either by way of the cemetery or the rapture. Either way we will be swept up to Heaven to the presence of God.
In the meantime, keep walking and working and talking with the Lord. Keep singing about Heaven.
“Beulah Land, I’m longing for you.”
