Follow The Star

The wise men came to worship the Lord Jesus when he was but a child.

Led by the star, they would have known of the prophecy of Num. 24:17, which says, “…there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel…”

No doubt they were moved by the Spirit of God to go to Bethlehem.

Matthew 2:10-11 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

[11] And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Wise men and women still listen for a Word from the Lord.

You are wise if you have followed the light you have been given.

You are wise if you have believed the Gospel.

You are wise if you worship Jesus.

You are wise if your give to Jesus the things that belong to Him.

You are wise if you heed His voice.

As the wise men followed the light of the star, today wise men and women follow Jesus, the Light of the world.

“Walk in the light, beautiful light, — come where the dewdrops of mercy shine bright. — Shine all around us by day and by night, — Jesus, the light of the world;”
