There was nothing special about Peter and his brother Andrew. They were simple fishermen, yet Jesus invites them to follow Him.
Matthew 4:19-20 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
Not just another villager wanting assistance, Jesus was the eternal God-Man. The Son of the living God had called them, and He would equip them for the work that lay ahead.
As He worked in their lives, making them fishers of men, Peter and Andrew would be used of Him in great and mighty ways.
Jesus is calling every believer to follow Him---not just pastors, deacons, Sunday school teachers or other leaders.
He will make us as it pleases Him, using us for His glory, making us fishers of men.
The longer we walk with Jesus, the more like Him we become. The more like Him we become, the more we want to please Him.
