Search Me, Oh, God

David gave God a warrant for search and seizure of his life. He asked God to search his heart, his mind, his ways, with the light of His holiness, to reveal any wickedness or sin.

Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

How could David hope to survive such a search? The answer is faith. David trusted the Lord because he knew that God was merciful and gracious.

This awesome God wants to draw us into a close relationship with Him, to make us vessels of honor for His service.

It will do believers good to ask God to search us. Surely He will find all sorts of things that need to go or need to change for His glory.
